Ailes de Paloumey, the second wine of Château Paloumey, proudly represents the colors of our family estate. Inspired by our emblem, the wood pigeon, Ailes de Paloumey is a velvety, and delectable tribute to our Haut-Médoc terroirs.

Presentation of Ailes de Paloumey

The production of a second wine is a practice that dates back to the 19th century and even finds its origins in our Médoc region. When the Cazeneuve family arrived at Château Paloumey, they chose to revive this tradition by creating in 1992 the first vintage of our second wine, Ailes de Paloumey.

Personality

Ailes de Paloumey is faithful to the spirit of its big brother, Château Paloumey, with which it shares the same Haut-Médoc terroirs and the same winemaking philosophy, our team giving it identical care from the vineyard to the cellar. Certified in organic agriculture since the 2021 vintage, Ailes de Paloumey distinguishes itself with its own personality: each year, it is made from parcels specifically dedicated to this wine and benefits from a blend mainly composed of Merlot, thus reinforcing its fruitier and velvety character. Favoring aging in barrels of one and two years old, Ailes de Paloumey is meant to be accessible for tasting in its youth.

Ailes de Paloumey, the ultimate pleasurable wine, seduces with its aromas of ripe red fruits, its smooth and delectable mouth, supported by a beautiful freshness and perfectly blended silky tannins. Agile in nature, Ailes de Paloumey pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes. It is the ideal companion for homemade vegetarian burgers and the traditional Sunday chicken, especially when the latter comes from the Vertessec farm in Médoc.
